Job purpose
To oversee all aspects of branch operations in Rushere, driving sales growth, ensuring exceptional customer service and achieving profitability. The Branch Manager will lead the branch team in implementing sales and marketing strategies, manage inventory, foster partnerships with local stakeholders and ensure compliance to standards and policies.
Key responsibilities
- Drive achievement of sales targets for the branch, identify growth opportunities in local markets and maintain Vet Centre’s market leadership.
- Work closely with stockists, dispensers, distributors, and local farmers to promote Vet Centre products and expand the customer base.
- Network with key stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, stockists, cooperatives and other partners in the region to not only ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty but also fuel mutually beneficial relationships.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of periodic plans and budgets for the branch and work with the various departmental managers to ensure that the branch plans and budgets are achieved and variances are explained.
- Ensure efficient management of all branch operations, including inventory management, order fulfilment and logistical coordination.
- Monitor and control operating expenses to meet profitability goals and drive cost efficiency.
- Responsible for effective management and utilization of company resources located at the branch.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the branch team to ensure high performance and employee satisfaction.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep staff updated on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
- Market intelligence for insights on market trends, pricing, competitors and customer needs for improvement areas and decision making.
- Address and resolve customer issues promptly, ensuring alignment with Vet Centre’s standards.
- Ensure all operations and staff comply with company policies and industry regulations, including those specific to veterinary pharmaceuticals.
- Prepare and submit relevant reports on branch performance in sales, marketing and operations.
Educational requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Business or a related field.
Specific experience, knowledge and skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and branch management or in a similar role, preferably in the veterinary pharmaceutical or agriculture sector.
- Strong understanding of the local veterinary market and farming community needs.
- Market intelligence gathering and analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with others in a professional manner and maintaining effective working relationships with direct reports, customers and other stakeholders.
- Financial Management & Budgeting skills are an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using MS office packages.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with ability to coach and mentor others.
