Position Overview
The Sales and Marketing Manager will play a key leadership role in driving sales growth, strengthening brand presence, and building customer loyalty. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with strong experience in sales, marketing strategy, and team management, preferably within the veterinary, agricultural, or pharmaceutical industries.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, veterinary professionals, and farmers.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess customer needs, monitor competitors, and identify opportunities.
- Prepare and monitor sales forecasts, budgets, and reports.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Design and execute innovative marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness.
- Develop and manage promotional activities, trade shows, and distributor workshops.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across digital, print, and in-person channels.
- Oversee content creation for social media, website, and marketing materials.
- Leverage customer feedback to improve product positioning and services.
Strategic Growth
- Conduct market research and identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to expand product reach into new regions.
- Support product launches with strategic sales and marketing plans.
- Track performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Veterinary Medicine, or Agriculture. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the veterinary, animal health, agricultural, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and leading successful marketing campaigns.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Uganda.
